I wouldn’t consider myself to have high standards when it comes to food. So it’s saying a lot when I tell you I was deeply disappointed by this place.
The food wasn’t great, but their service was horrendous. They seemed like nice people who mean well but they came up severely short. They forgot to bring me rice so my twice cooked pork was just sitting there. I waited, thinking they were just busy. It never came. I asked and had to wait.
They they forgot the veery first thing we ordered, the fried meat buns. We finished the meal and it still wasn’t out (despite us Reminding them about it several times). We finally had enough and cancelled, and requested the check. Then several minutes later they bring the fried meat buns and say it’s already done. This is after I said forget it and to just give me the check. I just said put it in the box and give me the check. Ugh! It shouldn’t have been this hard. And again, the food we ordered wasn’t good. Other people’s food did look good though.
This is a home cooked meal. You can’t ask for a better combination than this. My father in law made the braised pork with preserved vegetables and my wife prepared the ginger scallion salmon. The pork just melts in your mouth like butter. The salmon just tastes special. Everything is so tasty!!
Lets just get this out of the way: We love this place! Me, the family and my coworkers – nothing but love for Dumpling House. We go here weekly at a minimum.
I wanted to share their braised spareribs with spinach with you. The meat is so soft and tender. The sauce is so rich and flavorful. Just the sauce over the rice is an experience in its own! And then there is a thin layer of spinach at the bottom. I can’t speak highly enough of this plate. It is a must try!
I will also include some other pics from Dumpling House. Their salt and pepper wings are pretty darn good too.
Here are those other pics.
The subs here are no joke. The large subs are ginormous! It would easily feed 2 people or one person who clearly is over eating. The subs are not super thick but they are super long. Meat quality is never questionable here. One great thing about their meatball sub is that they don’t cut the meatballs in half to spread down the roll. You get full sized meatballs lined up from end to end. I always look forward to going to Al’s Cafe.
